Infinite’s Paradise

Note: This review will not be the same like JYJ’s in heaven since this one doesn’t have a story line.

Firstly, during the whole video we can’t see any dance moves AT ALL. Some may be against this but some won’t. By not having any dance moves shown in the video they’re trying to show something new where all they did is act and not dancing. They also succeed in trying to ‘running-away-from-the-trend’ where usually in K-pop MVs they will dance and have their individual shots and things like that. But then, by not having any dance move, we as viewers can’t see their unique dance moves. As we all know, Infinite is one of those boy bands who have cool dances and stuff like that, it’s a pity that they don’t have the ability to show off their dance moves here.

This MV doesn’t have any story line but then it’s trying to tell the viewers something, about what happened between the girl and the boys from Infinite (in my opinion this is not a story since it doesn’t have any plot and things like that). From this MV they’re trying to deliver the message of the song, this means that Infinite has successfully create something relevant. Overall, the lyric of the song is saying ‘please don’t go, stay here and without you here it’s not paradise’ (please note that this is a-one-sentence-summary of the song and it is not the exact words from the lyrics) to their girlfriend or probably their ex. In the video itself, we can see that there’s this one girl that is walking around the house and as we watch the video we can see that she went inside and took something (right-pict) which indicates her ‘want’ to get out and leave the guys. By looking at Infinite’s expression we can judge that they don’t want this to happen especially in this scene where sunggyu is kind of talking and blabber behind her back:

The part where they have their individual shot and the part where some are sitting and the rest are standing is still relevant to the song and to the whole mv but the scene in the train is kind of not relevant. Out of all places that they can choose, why train?

Sure this scene can show how they feel, it reflects them being lonely and sad when the girl left but still there is something wrong with the idea of being inside a train.

JYJ’s In Heaven MV (Analysis)

Firstly, JYJ’s In Heaven is actually really-really nice. What I like is the fact that they made a video that has a story line and not just showing their face and dance. Though, I was kind of disappointed by the fact that Yoochun and Jaejoong aren’t inside the MV.

What the MV is about? When seeing the video, viewers needs to see it from the beginning to end, watching it halfway won’t help. To be able to understand it you probably need to watch it for two or more than two times.

As they begin the MV, you’ll see Junsu in a meeting, he’s too busy to be able to answer Jihyo’s call. Though, if we are judging from the expression of Junsu, it looks like he’s purposely ignoring Jihyo’s call despite the fact that he’s busy, it is possible that both are in the middle of a fight. Not only from Junsu’s expression, we can also see it from Jihyo’s, she’s crying which indicates the tension between both of them. The fact that he didn’t pick the phone up may also make her feel sad.

Then, after Junsu didn’t answer Jihyo’s call, Jihyo was hit by a car. They didn’t show what happened later but then viewers may make their own conclusion that Jihyo is now dead because of the car crash. This is showed from how Junsu acts the day after, obviously, he’s sad and in his expression we can spot his guilt. It is shown that Junsu regrets what he did and that he misses Jihyo. Viewers may see this since during his work he opened his drawer to take a look at his past picture with Jihyo. This scene happened on 2011, you can spot this on 1.53 when they get a shot of the calender.

After that, the scene moved on to the time where Junsu woke up and opened his fridge. While doing that, his house bell (?) rang and it’s Jihyo indeed. When he opened the door, he was shocked (obviously) then he went to check the calender and then he realized that it is no longer 2011, it is now 2008 which means that the time went backwards. It was like God giving him a second chance to satisfy and to fix things with Jihyo.

By the chance and time given to Junsu, he made a list of things to do while Jihyo ‘is back’. He took Jihyo to ride a bike, to a dinner and gave her a surprise during that dinner.

After spending his days with Jihyo, he finally realized that the day the he is in now is the day where Jihyo will have her accident (4.31). He is having the exact situation like what happened in the beginning. Though, this time its different, they’re not in the middle of a fight as we can see from Jihyo’s facial expression when she’s about to cross the street. As Junsu realized that it was the day of the accident, he decided to run away from his meeting even though it was so important so that he can save Jihyo. As he was on the same location as her, he saw a car running towards Jihyo’s direction by that Junsu ran to be able to catch her and save her and he did.

At the end, the ending of the story is totally different from the beginning, this time Junsu saved Jihyo but then, they both died (viewers may conclude their own endings since it is a little bit unclear whether they did or not). Viewers may conclude that they both died since they are now sitting on a chair in a place that looks so peaceful (heavenly like). What’s important about the ending is that they are now together in heaven. The ending is actually linked to the lyrics where it says “now I’m going to follow your path”. Jihyo died because of the accident and Junsu wanted to follow her path and be together with her.
